Binoy Varakil’s journey as a teacher, trainer, internationally acclaimed author, and award-winning filmmaker is marked by an inspiring trail of excellence and creativity.

In 2023, Binoy made his debut as a film producer and director with the powerful documentary "Slaves of the Empire", which went on to win over five international awards, including the prestigious Best Documentary Film Award at the UK-Asian London Film Festival in 2025.

His first English novel, "Mountains, Rivers and Soldiers" (2015), a heartfelt tribute to the love and sacrifice of an Indian Army Officer, received international acclaim and was honored with the Abraham Lincoln Excellence Award by United Human Care International, USA in 2019.

His debut Malayalam novel, "Vishudha Kelan", earned him the Pravasalokam Sahithya Puraskar, establishing him as a distinctive voice in Malayalam literature.

Binoy also received the Special Jury Award in the globally recognized Shakespeare International Poetry Contest, hosted by the Department of English, Farook College, Kozhikode, which saw participation from over 60 countries.


Driven by a larger vision of influencing global thought and culture through literature and cinema, Binoy Varakil aspires for the highest honors — the Nobel Prize for Literature and the Academy Award (Oscar) for film.
